I took these photos of my classmate Syn on different days during spring break in 2024 to cover an environmental portrait assignment about her hobby, cosplaying. During the break, Syn told me she was preparing a cosplay outfit and agreed to let me photograph the process. The photos are divided into two sections: the first shows Syn making the costume at her house, while the second features her posing in the finished outfit at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park. My goal was to document the steps involved in creating a cosplay costume. Shooting at night was challenging due to Syn's movement and difficult lighting conditions, but overall I am pleased with the results and hope to continue improving my photography skills.
